Favorite type of rock to climb on

To add on to Puppy Lovr’s only decent thread, what is everyone’s favorite type of rock to climb on. Be specific and anyone answering with quartz will be shamed. Mine is undeniably either nuttall sandstone of the new river gorge or Corbin sandstone of the red river gorge. |

Granite dome slabs of Western North Carolina. The spooky slab is just fantastic and has the most reliable/best friction relative to other rock types (from what I've climbed). |

Definitely not quartz. |

Anything with holds. I hate rock without holds. |

American Fork Limestone is fun stuff. I enjoy that rock a lot. |

High quality blue-grey limestone is the stone of the Gods. |

Featured Idaho Basalt, so nice on the fingers. |

I'm not the most experienced voice here by far, but I have climbed in a number of places and I still want to come home to the conglomerate sandstone of the Flatirons. |

Seems like any place that has pink granite hasn't disappointed me yet. Love me some big crystals whether they are getting pinched on a slab, poking the back of my hand in a hand crack or scraping my shoulders in an offwidth. Also makes you think about your gear instead of plugging them in a splitter almost as easy as clipping a bolt. |

There is nothing more righteous than southern sandstone. Prove me wrong, I'll wait. |
