Just wondering how you folks keep track of non-regular climbing partners you meet while on trips and make plans to climb 'next time they come around'. I almost feel like I need to keep a light dossie-a (sic) of where they live, what they do for work, emergency contact info, spouses/children's name, etc. Climbing with them I can recall in perfect detail down to even gear we used, and stuff we talked about, but some times the parts of their lives I don't see get blurry with time and I want them to know I care. Any way, is it still possible to buy a Rolodex? What do you folks use for this kind of thing?

I just keep a list of contacts in my phone. Stuff like "Tobias Yosemite" and "Mike Safe Harbor". Keeps them just a search away whenever I'm in an area and need a partner. Any relevant information I can just throw in their contact description and see when I look em up

Social media -- mostly Instagram for me. Keeps it less awkward to approach them later on when you regularly comment or "like" a post and you can keep up to date with their lives.

I mean, the whole "social media is a plague" thing can be true and all, but the whole point of it is to keep in contact and share your life with friends, so yea. That's what I use it for and it works exceptionally well for me and my circles.
