Where to buy longer lengths of rope for sport climbing?
|
|
A couple friends and I want to split a cheap 160m rope into 4x40m ropes just for gym use to extend our outdoor ropes' lifetimes. I haven't seen anywhere that sells longer lengths of rope, where is a good source to buy one? |

Maybe this? https://sterlingrope.com/store/climb/ropes/dynamic/workhorse/phenom-103-mm |

Michael Xiaowrote: 30 seconds https://www.atomikclimbingholds.com/climbing-rope-102-mm-1-1 Seems like you're better off just using an old or deep discount rope than the spool. |

The best way to get a spool of rope for a discount is make friends with someone who has a pro deal. I also feel like gym wear is almost immaterial compared to outdoor climbing wear and I recall a lot of the boston gyms will give you a lead rope if you ask. |

Not sure what this post is getting at when you can buy a 30/35/40m rope off the shelf, or buy a 70m and cut it in half. Whatever savings you eek out aren't likely to be more than $5-$15 per rope. |

Darren Swrote: I picked up a 35M 9.9 for $75 earlier this summer. Great gym/home crag rope for the price. |

How about 5 ropes instead? Cut this in 5 and they're $56 each: https://fixehardware.com/index.php/roca-pro-gym-10-2-200m-spool.html |
