yup... if you want more details, call the county and ask.

Thanks. Did you get one or you were just driving through?

Still doesn't answer my question of what the citation is for. You saw officers writing tickets and putting them on people's car? So whoever the car is registered to gets a citation for violating a public health order?

Clear Creek County Public Health Order R20-02  provides the power to issue citations and jail time.

Rich Ludwig wrote: In the safer at home order linked by the OP, I see no mention of a 10 mile rule or staying in your county of residence.

Where do you get this stuff from?

This is the only portion of the EO linked by Erika that I found containing the 10 mile restriction.  Note that it says "as much as possible."  And, as others have noted, differs from the CDPHE order.

Once again, there is nothing regarding climbing.  (Of course we wouldn't expect a general order to include something as specific as rock climbing.)  But I live within 10 miles of Eldo, the Flatirons, and Boulder Canyon (measured on Google Maps), so I assume climbing in these places is permitted by the Order.

I also rope-solo quite commonly, so no partner to come into contact with.  In 20+ years of top-rope soloing I've never suffered even a minor injury, but I have from biking, trail running and hiking.  So climbing (at least in my case) seems much safer.

I just received an email back from CCC Sheriff's Office. These citations must be issued to a person and cannot be left on a vehicle.

If you read the order, the restriction is for county roads only!  They should not be issuing citations in CCC, as that is a Federal highway.  Not sure what the easements are along the road, so maybe they are considering the shoulders where climbers park as "county road?"

They aren't ticketing CCC on US 6, most of which is in Jefferson County anyway.

And most of the people parked seem to be fishermen and hikers rather than climbers.

why do people post here before reading the information on the county's website? there is literally a map attached to the order that shows the specific roads in question...

Gov. Jared Polis’ “safer-at-home” executive order issued Sunday night includes a provision ordering Coloradans not to travel more than 10 miles from their homes to recreate. That means activities like hiking, biking, skiing, fishing and rafting.

“Travel for recreational purposes should be limited to your own community, like your county of residence,” the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment’s public health order, which went into effect on Monday morning, says.

Meanwhile, you can still purchase an out-of-state Colorado fishing licence. Go figure...

Like it or not the new Safer at Home rules may be too soon.  The death toll in the US has quickly climbed to over 60,000.  China was successful in dealing with the situation.  The US response is too little too late.  The economic response by congress & the Fed demonstrates how totally incompetent our government is.  Many people have lost their jobs or went out of business. People are losing their healthcare.  Many people around the country are waiting in long lines at Food Banks.  Many people can't pay their rent.  Workers at meatpacking plants are working in unsanitary conditions and getting COV-19.  Trump is using the Defense Production Act to force striking workers at meatpacking plants to go back to work, rather than use the act to manufacture more ventilators.  There are plans for a general strike on May 1st.  There are ways to  join and support striking workers at grocery stores, Amazon warehouses, Fed-Ex workers, health care professionals, etc.  Don't shop to support strikers or pay rent on May 1st.  Boycott all meat products throughout May or longer.  Boycott Amazon for the foreseeable future if not forever.  All essential workers should get a raise, while many like grocery workers don't even make $15 per hour.

The reason the restrictions are being relaxed is because, the economy is in the toilet & the government would rather bailout the banks & large corporations, not help workers & small businesses.  In other countries like the UK, the government is paying 80% of workers wages so they won't be laid off.  Lifting restrictions too soon will likely lead to another wave of infections and another lock down.  Everybody climbing in Clear Creek or Boulder Canyon at the same crags won't allow for social distancing.  Unless your climbing partner is your spouse or roommate, you shouldn't be hanging out climbing together.  It's very risky, until we have reliable testing.

A general strike presents an opportunity for the people to make demands on our elected leaders, landlords & corporations.  This is not business as usual.  Time to wake up & smell the coffee, rather than worry about visiting the crags

Took a drive up CCC yesterday afternoon and the parking areas for tunnels 5 and 6 were coned off. A few people parked along the road, not sure if they are being ticketed (maybe if they have out of county plates since it is clear creek county up there?)

Husband and I did climb at an obscure area (saw nobody else). We had masks with us in case we encountered other people, and passed up the 1st 3 areas we were considering since they were busy. It looked like people were doing a better job of spacing out, but still some large groups gathered in the usual places (High Wire, Wall of the 90’s).

I was going to use my stimulus check to buy Wendys gift cards on amazon and then use them to buy Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers.

You mean you actually have received your $1,200.00 stimulus check?  Sounds like you don't really need it. Perhaps you should buy good food and donate it to people in need.

or, perhaps since a large majority of us are not climbing as much as we usually do, we can donate our time as well...

lots of opportunities out there!

Yes that is correct. I'd recommend checking out popularresistance.org & finding out about how you can help with the May 1st general strike or helping those in need.  The US post office is also in trouble & we may lose it.  We need to continue tp put pressure on our elected to do what is right & needed for the American people.  We need to stand in solidarity with essential workers who get paid slave wages & don't get the right protective equipment.

Thanks Mark, but I was thinking more in line with volunteering locally in our state:

Take a breath...and take off the tinfoil hat. It’s going to be ok.
