A friend of mine has a wife that works on missile systems. Somehow her employer got her labelled as essential, gave her a pass that she can get through road blocks or whatnot.

Correctional Officer at Level 4 Maximum Security Prison. Definitely Essential
It’s funny, the public is on lockdown, but the prisoners aren’t. They deem it necessary to limit Civilians to groups of 10 or less, but it’s cool to let 200 to 400 child molesters, murderers and gangsters with tons of diseases, diabetes, and underlying conditions brought on by a lifetime of severe drug abuse run around together on the yard all day because restricting their free time a bit is somehow cruel?

Aren't they isolated from the rest of society, such that it would be hard for them to contract the virus?

On the surface, you’d think that. But no, there are over 900 employees at my facility who come and go overseeing and working in direct contact with the roughly 3,800 Inmates who reside there.

I bet the diabetic child molesters always have the best candy though?

I work as a career adviser for people with disabilities at the Montana Department of Labor and Industry ... I came in last Monday to learn that I had essentially been "drafted" by the unemployment division of the state ... I am now an unemployment agent without any specific credentials, wearing a headset, fielding about 50 calls a day for the last week in a stuffy cubicle. The good news is that a large majority of people have been very kind over the phone, though one guy called me a "millennial pussy" when I told him I no longer felt comfortable helping him because he had threatened me when I couldn't answer one of his questions.

I’m only a dual citizen because I have that privilege, and I chose to. If to become an American citizen I’d have to renounce my mother nation, then no, I’d have not become a citizen of the United States. But if you want to get really technical, then yes, I’m definitely not as American as you are. But according to the law of the United States, I’m just as an American as you. I have your exact same rights. Not more. Not less. In 2016 I voted for Trump. In 2020 let’s make liberals cry again lol I took this pic at the Trump Tower when I was in NYC just recently. So yes, I have two presidents.

I'm pretty sure the way you approach politics misses the most important aspects of it (ensuring a functional society, solving global problem, fixing bridges, clean water, all that boring stuff) in order to focus on the nasty by-products that tend to come with with (partisanship).
But if that makes you happy... have fun.

Wonder how much of that NASA Stimulus package I'll get. Maybe like 20 bucks?? My dream job right there. Not being American, as I just mentioned, makes me pretty happy theses days but also makes it way less likely I'll ever work at NASA. We do have a space agency in Canada but we just don't have quite the same scope. The robotic arm stuff is pretty nice.... but it's not quite the Voyagers, Insight or Dragonfly.

To be honest I never really thought about this until you mentioned. Of course I consider Americans my people too. I have great American friends, and I have a great American family that has been kinder to me than my own blood. When I say “they”, all what I mean are the Americans who were born and raised in America, not Americans like me, who immigrated from another country and chose to become an U.S. citizen. That’s all what I mean. Thanks for pointing that out.

I treat everyone in america as americans, I do not care if they are illegal or first gen or whatever.Same for politics, I try my hardest to treat everyone the same because we are all on the same side. We are all Americans. And being an american does not make us any better or worse than any other country in the world. We are just people.
