Oh, also, stock up on stainless steel bolts to develop some sport crags while the rest of the world goes down the toilet. Once the dust settles, the survivors will want to pull down to get over the memories of a dead and decaying world. And remember, bolting ethics are going to be a thing of the past, so do what thou wilt shall be the extent of the law.

Everyone forgets he was a mountaineer.
Not necessarily one you'd want to partner up with.  A bit quick to cut the rope.

I'm working from home too now.
Huh.
Looks like I'll be partying in Bishop shortly.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if some van hobo brought C-Virus from Socal to Bish?!

Facebook social warriors are asking you don't come visit their little town and decimate the population with your virus.

More than likely, you’ll be fine. But... even if you don’t have the virus, if you get sick or injured, or need to be rescued, you’ll be putting pressure on the local health care/emergency system. Just something you might want to consider.

I was specifically told not to work in public places, due to increased risk.

And my van was just totaled, so that's out too.

That doesnt really make sense, If i was on the internet in my office I was still on the internet...

One of my favorites is a van Hobo in Moab posted a rant on IG the other day about tourists needing to stay away from Moab... Then she went on to say how hard life is for them because they have to rely on gas stations and restaurants for hand washing...

Could be good to read this article before venturing to any small town climbing spots: thundercling.com/2020/03/th…

Grand County is Moab. I expect this will soon be statewide. From the Southeast Utah Department of Health:

Effective March 17th at 10pm, all hotels, overnight rentals, and campgrounds (including BLM sites) are closed for anyone not residing in Grand County.  Restaurants are limited to curb-side pickup or delivery.

Ray Show wrote: This virus is deadly, and everyone should take it really serious. It's great you will have an opportunity to work remotely soon. The time to institute known successful preventive measures is now, before the hospitals are overwhelmed. If we don't, then we can expect to become like China, Italy, Iran, and Seattle within a few short weeks. With a 7.4 fold increase each week, we can expect almost 4,000,000 confirmed cases within a month. That's the simple math. Still preventable, but only if we implement all the social distancing measures right now. So it's great you are having the opportunity to work from your van.

Currently working from my van as is! Living the remote life dream. Stay positive all!

Redpoint is closed.  They recently changed ownership and are undergoing a remodel.

I believe Gumby the White is on a covert mission as a vector for this virus. He is using his luxurious "work from home job" (???) to go on a pilgrimage in his van to spread the virus to smaller climbing communities that would not be reached otherwise. What kind of "work from home job" also allows you to be climbing during the greater part of the day?? Risking sounding paranoid, I believe there are more insidious motives here. Stay home and stop spreading your germs sir.

Ah yes, another Gumby knock off. I am flattered with the recent string of gumby names popping up on mountain project, and must admit yours is quite unique.

Unique circumstances with an employer that knows you do good work and is not checking in on you all day allows me to be flexible in my climbing. I appreciate your concern and maybe I'll see you one of these days when your shackles are removed from your current employer ;)

Real nice to have a real job right now, hobos must be suffering. I'm going to pray for you.

Times like these are why people with real jobs sacrifice climbing days for work days.

Maybe start to go fund me?

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
