Seen some "Should I move to X" posts floating around, and thought it would be fun to see what others thought as the best place to live internationally may be for climbing... Taking into account work, culture, food, proximity and variety of cliffs, days outside..etc...
Perhaps Regensburg in Bavaria for me..
After work burns in Altmuhtal, Naab, Laaber -- You'll never climb it all...and if you do, 30 min - 1 hour for the rest of Frankenjura. 2 hours to Alps (maybe more if Munich is trafficy), 2 hours to Czechia and Elbsandstein. Easy access to European cities and choice of two airports (MUN and Nuremburg) UNESCO site, "northernmost Italian city," decent food and EXCELLENT beer. City is easy to navigate and just big enough. Really friendly climbing scene... Lots of jobs if you have skills.
Weather can get tough, but I got in over 60 days last year, with a full+ time job and travel...Could have had more if skiing and hiking didn't pull me away at times!
Other contenders might be Chang Mai, Valencia, or Barcelona...but I'd love to hear what y'all think!

I'm digging Innsbruck. Couple hundred routes within 20 minutes of the city. Some 10k routes within 1.5 hours, on all styles of gneiss and dolomite (limestone, but without the tufas). Big mountains next to the city with enough easy scrambing -> serious multipitch for a lifetime. A dozen ski resorts within an hour. 2.5 hours south to Arco or the Dolomites. 3 hours north to the Frankenjura. 2.5 hours west is something called Swizzyland.
Great beer, good food options, some jobs and a University or two. Flying out is a little harder as the airport in town is small, but you can just use it to take a short hop to Vienna or Munich, or take the bus to the Munich airport (why leave though?).
Last year there were only a handful of days we couldn't find anywhere within 3 hours to climb at on the weekend. I get outside on average 4 times a week, and when I can't there's a world class gym here.

We got you beat on beer though, here in Germany--haha! Mobes -- I believe that was resolved, but I could be wrong. There is another great crag there under development, too--and quite a few in the area just waiting for the drill...plus a cheap flight to hit up Thakek. Plus the craft brewery to compete with the beer chang, and the food...jobs might be difficult though, unknown...

Always down to get out. I'll ask for recommendations next time I'm in the Frankenjura. Ok, you have a good point about the beer. I am drinking the imported stuff all the way from your neck of the woods ;)

All I know is it’s the Black Forest over there—there is a guidebook that looks alright, but never climbed there. Probably ok, but a little less concentrated than over here. Also kinda close to the sandstone of pfalz and the schwabian alb...and then Switzerland, too. Chamonix and Arco are amazing but work might be hard to find...and the tourists...but, so beautiful.
