[FOUND] Stuck Dog in a bad spot in need of rescue by climber will pay $$$ 9/21

Hello,

I was hiking up near Rollins Pass, East of Winter Park, (9/21/19) and my dog got away from me, and ran off.  She went down the rock face just to the North of Skyscraper glacier.  She still had her leash on and she got stuck on a ledge.  Either her leash got caught on a rock (which I think is the most likely senario from what we could see) or she was just too scared to leave the ledge. We tried everything we could to get to her, but the rock face was to steep and to risky to do without ropes.  We tried an approach from above and below but could not get to her.  My friend and I are both not experienced climbers, and did not want to injure ourselves trying to rescue her.   We had to make the extremely hard decision to go back to the car and head home for the night, as it was getting dark and we did not have food/water/shelter adequate to stay the night (we were just up for a day).  As far as I know she is still up there and I am planning on going back in the morning to get her, but I need help.  I think it will be a somewhat easy job with the right equipment.  You can easily get to about 10-20 yards above her on foot.  It is a 2 mile easy hike from the parking lot.  I am just posting this as a last ditch effort to see if there is someone willing to go up with me on 9/22 that has the proper gear and experience to attempt this rescue.  I can offer $200 for your efforts.  I understand it is possible she got free from where she was and is lost in the area now.  She is a black and white pit/lab mix (about 50 pounds) named Greta.  She is a really sweet dog.  I live in Lakewood and can drive any Denver area climber.  I have attached an image of where about she is stuck.

My number is 3037465752

Thanks
Andy

Andrew, I saw this post and really feel for you. You have posted this on the gear discussion page. Please post this again in the forum under Colorado. Also post it in the Colorado section under partners. If you need help finding these let me know. You have a better chance of finding someone to help you if it's posted on those forums.

I found this web site for the SAR for your area: https://grandcountysar.com
You can contact them 24 hours

This is a reasonable time to call search and rescue, trained professionals can handle it well. Climbers may put themselves at risk trying to do good...

does he need to dial 911 to get in touch with SAR?

Most SAR teams work directly for a law enforcement agency and will not/can’t  “officially” respond to requests for pets.

Not saying contacting them is a bad idea, just don’t expect the Calvary to be dispatched. If you get ahold of the right person they could spread the word and members may respond in an unofficial capacity.

That'd be quite rad if Jesus came and rescued your dog but I doubt he will.

Best of luck dude. I wish I was around to help you out!

OP, you should post this in CO sub forum and I would post in Lost/Found as well. Good luck getting your dog down safely

Try to be less of an asshole.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
