Well, it's the Center of the Pooniverse, of course.

1. All footage was taken prior to the injury, we did not film anything after. (just edited it that way).
2. I realize I made a horrible mistake, but since I was up and down the area three times, I thought the ground felt even and safe. Dumb. Yes. I wish I took it slow. But way to kick a guy when he's down everyone. Does it make you feel better about yourselves? Kind of sad.
3. The title is 'broke' with quotations. My ankle is pretty destroyed and definitely doesn't work so one could argue it is 'broken' but no not fractured. ("How I got a grade 3 ankle sprain..." didn't have the same ring to it).
4. There was several miscellaneous posts, some hiking posts in the southern Utah forum, so this didn't feel very off topic to me as a few suggested. So sorry I forced anyone into watching "I didn't wanna clock work orange ya." Hope you recover soon.

PS You guys and gals seem very strong and wise and awesome. Don't ever change.

YouTube hits, how's that going Mr X?

so many laughs. the footage of you jumping. the footage of you splashing the camera teasingly as you contemplate a swim. the music. but more than anything, the idea that posting it here would be a good idea. that is truly the most comical thing.

Glad you're ok Shawn. Could have been a lot worse. Could've made GMA with a broken tib/fib and that footage.
Is a severe grade 3 sprain c/d, d, or soft 11? :)

Get well!

Not to worry, mM.  I have a large extended family - catholic background and all. So I am just sending ‘em periodic reminders to let the vid play in the background. ;)

I've heard the Narrows described many ways but this may be the first time one of the most spectacular slots in the country is called a "nondescript dusty canyon".

It appears that you have made the discovery that all visitors to MP figure out eventually, namely that posting just about anything where a mistake has been made, there is a misunderstanding of any sort, or an  injury sustained is like throwing chum into a tank full of sharks.

Hiking mistakes posted on a climbing site can be deadly
