They have made some improvements to the design, but every version they have come out with has had QC issues. And several people on here have shared some really shitty customer service experiences with them so I would just stay clear of their cams. The last thing I want on my mind when I'm on the sharp end is wondering if my cam is going to explode.

Yes, but I suspect there's a TON of selection bias reporting on here.  I'm at least 8 cams deep into the newest ones and have had ZERO issues.  Many other online posts and reviews have been positive as well. (SMEs with less bias such as Andy Kirkpatrick)  I take negative reporting with a HUGE grain of salt.  What is the knowledge level of the person complaining?  How often do we see posts about "my cam broke, should I send it in?" where it's 100% user error.  I'm simply not seeing the negative feedback that earlier Fixe efforts had.  And CS is WAY down my list of things to worry about.  In 30 years I've only once had to engage CS on cams (CCH debacle) and even then, it wasn't bad (lucky I suspect).

Has anybody had their trigger wire pop off the trigger part of the c3? My green one did that a year ago and I was able to take some needle nose pliers and get it close enough to bent back around the plastic coil. It popped off again a couple weeks ago and I can't seem to bend it properly. Anybody fixed this one their own? Otherwise has anybody sent it in? Love that green c3 and want to get it back into commission.

+1 on this. My red c3 is out of commission right now and servicing it with pliers has not yielded much...

They're directly related.  Smaller cam angles = less range while large angles = more.  It's a trade off.  Smaller angles = greater "holding power".  There are several thread on here and elsewhere diving into the nuance etc.

Ah, ok.  So a well placed cam with a smaller angle will theoretically be stronger, but a greater angle cam will be easier to place well?  Off the top of my head, C3s feel like they have a tighter range than X4s; does this mean the new cams will basically be X4s but with shorter range/more holding power?

A vise and a couple pairs of needle nose pliers can really help. If you place the cam in the vise, you can keep the lobes in the retracted position and really shape the wire back to how it needs to be, which is easier with two pliers. After that, a dab of super glue on the underside of the trigger at the wire should do for a longer-term fix. Once the glue dries, remove from the vise. (Remove from the vice first to check the action prior to applying the glue.)

So what's the best alternative? I only have C4's on my rack at this point, but it was my understanding that C3's would be good to add to the rack eventually. When it's time to expand, what should I get instead?

Thanks for some beta there. I'll try that out!
