Rappelling El cap is actually a pretty big ordeal. Have you ever climbed El cap? Can you imagine the amount of weight of a 3,000 foot rope. How the friction required changes drastically during the descent. You would get nowhere with a standard atc with 3000 feet of rope.
Granted I hate rappelling and would not do it for fun. It is a dangerous part of climbing that most take for granted. With that said fuck yeah I would rappel El cap with a single rope. Seems like a great way spend the morning
I liked it but was hoping for more footage of him climbing, whether from a zoomed in telescopic lense, or more cameras on the wall. It struck me as the normal climbing flick.
I personally liked Meru better. This has gotten me stoked to watch the Dawn Wall now!
