It was only a matter of time.

Spark Notes:

Climbing in Yosemite is racist
Alex Honnold is "mediocre"
"Himpathy" is a word now

I’ll set this here.

This woman is just on the opposite side of the spectrum from Trump.

I love it.

I'll read it and reply, but it's a nice day and I need to go outside. I'm sure this thread will be 100% civil for the next 8 hours. But,

This is the same site that had big beef with the Slaydies short film, right?

Brad G, Having a bored rest day in Vegas? The article sorta devalues itself when the very buried lead of "I am a white woman" pops up very late in the article that plays up to make it seem like an indigenous woman is writing this. Then go check out the author's instagram. I think people would call it #blessed.

I take it that extreme feminist thought is an interest of yours?

Erin has never exactly been one to deal in reason or logic. I'm concerned for her mental health and disappointed in those that enable her behavior which only exacerbates her issues. Then again, she may just be the greatest troll in climbing related writing history. In that case, well done Erin, well done.

Some times I worry that I fall too far to the left. This article has helped pushed me closer to the middle. Thank you Erin.

I wish. I usually have to read her blog posts in 3-4 sittings. It’s just so much to process, mind bending shit

Man, MP must drive 90% of the views for Erin's articles, which is sad because her articles don't deserve this kind of traffic.

Why do we keep discussing her confused POV? She is not a representative of rational feminism, her views are fringe and inflammatory.

Yet here we are.

It's always nice to be reminded that you're sane enough to see and consider both sides of an issue instead of being stuck in an echo chamber.

Maybe to discontinue traffic to the blog we just send one representative (I vote for Tradiban) to copy and paste the article into a post here so she doesn't get the hits?

ooh it's her again. There's definitely sections that I agree with in her posts, but at the same it's just so accusatory to the point where I think it becomes counterproductive to her points :/.

I agree that there is a responsibility of the privileged to help the underprivileged. I think many of us would also agree that this idea of 'living off the grid' has tended to become privileged hogwash.

But as a graduate of UC Santa Barbara, comparing Alex Honnold to that fucking freak? Fuck off. It really seems like she is going out of the way attacking the only climber who actually attempts to account for the problems she tends to address.

I wonder what her opinion of Lonnie is...

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
