Ticking an area?

Is it possible to tick an area, without a specific route? We have a huge boulder field here, and I'd like to keep track of which area we visited, but often we aren't on any particular named boulder, let alone route.

great minds think alike - I would like this too.  There are places I've climbed long ago but I have no idea what I climbed.  It'd be nice to be able to add a comment about the area and have it show up on the map.  I'd also like if ticks could be made private.

Here's a great way for you kids to keep track of "ticks:" And it's private.

But I'm following your ticks.

but isnt the purpose of a tick list so either you can remember what you climbed or gain climbing partners based on similar grade/style? you already remember you climbed there and having climbed an area doesnt help with partners.

this just seems like more of a "look where ive been" type of feature.

Yes, but it's more than an area. As stated, Swan Falls is a general area, with sub areas. Very little of the routes are on MP, but most of the sub areas are. I would wish to track these as ticks, for myself, but it also means I would be more likely to add more info down the road. That would be helpful for those who are visiting, as well as those, like myself, who don't have the years in out there to sort out 10,000 boulders stretched out for a few miles.

A tick gives me a way to know which smaller areas are ones I found something promising to "project" without having to turn it into a named boulder when we are talking about just VB, V0 stuff at best. Then, the comment can let me know I wanna get back to something.

Yes, I could just write it down and let it remain cryptic for every other person who comes along, but for some odd reason I feel more inclined to contribute to our wonky little community than to just be a smartass. Well. Not just a smartass this time.... :-)

Best, Helen

This feature is unlikely to make it to the top of the list... I'd like to keep up the motivation to add the missing routes :)

Ah. Well, thanks....guess I'll just have to make stuff up, then, lol! So, don't blame me if you have "tomb of the unknown boulder" number 1, 2, 3.....

Thanks, though, sir! Much appreciated. Helen
