Ted Pinson wrote: Is Chris Weidner as much of a mysoginistic asshole as he comes across on China Doll? Uh... that's kind of a trick question. In my experience (which is not terribly limited, which is to say extensive) he's a fairly nice guy. |

Ted Pinson wrote:Yeah, that’s the one Nate. Thanks for clarifying. I just watched the film. There are a few comments he makes that I would have not been comfortable making on film, but more for knowing how people might react than for thinking that they are inherently bad things to think or say. (shrugs) I don't profess to know exactly how tongue in cheek they were intended to be. I'll ask him next time we talk, but that's not going to end up posted here. |

Yeah, it might have just been bad moments. I don’t profess to have an accurate or honest opinion of a guy I’ve never met, there were just a few scenes in it that left a bad taste in my mouth despite it being an otherwise incredible film. It’s just that almost all of his descriptions of Heather and why he liked her boiled down to: 1) She’s hot and 2) she climbs hard, but not quite as hard as he. |

I appreciate it that my wife is also hot, and that is part of what got me to notice her in the first place, so if I'm honest, yeah, I have human biology and there is the attraction thing. She says the same about me, so I guess we deserve eachother. |

I was driving along 4th in Boulder and saw a woman struggling with a dog on the side of the road, so I slowed down. Lucky I did, because the dog suddenly lunged for the road and I would've hit him if I hadn't - the woman was still struggling as I drove by and I noticed it was Lynn Hill. So, I didn't actually meet her, but almost killed her dog. |

Tradiban wrote: Honestly, I consider Chris a friend and I don't expect any drama. I imagine if he wanted to say something, he would do so himself. |

Tony B wrote: If you were his friend you wouldn't speculate on his actions or words on a public forum. (J/K kinda :) His words were probably just taken out of context |

Tony B wrote: Well, I’m sorry to insult your friend. I could be totally off-base and don’t know him personally, so extrapolating how a person would be in person off of an edited video is probably not the smartest idea. Sorry I brought it up. |

Nate Tastic wrote: Being that the movie's main protaganist was her, I was focused there. Someone mentioned in the Youtube comments that it was a great video and that they hope she is seeing a therapist as that would be a great adventure for her; I'm paraphrasing. I in part agreed with that sentiment. She seemed very adept at using self-castigation as a motivator and I worried that such a stategy may one day come back to collect what it's owed. Not going to be fun, that day. How about the climbing movie is about climbing instead of how we feel about climbing: Climbing feels |

Ted Pinson wrote: I didn't take it personally and you don't owe me an apology. I can see what you are saying in a way, but I sure would have worded that differently. |

I met Peter Croft a couple years back at Red Rock Rendezvous, he was signing posters for The North Face booth. He was so humble and soft spoken, he felt guilty autographing the posters. "Do you want me to sign this?" like he was ruining it.... ummmm everyone was in line to have him sign it, silly. |

Ocalslay Onlyyay wrote: it's so great because you tinies can't help yourselves Many professional climbers do public meet at greats at events, book releases, movie premieres, festivals, etc, etc... They are paid to interact with their fans at that moment in time and space you are not intruding on their life. It's not asking Tom Cruise for a selfie while he's on the phone and holding his daughter. |

Forever Outside wrote: I mean, it's great because the name-droppers can't not drop. It's part of your DNA. Even though this is an obvious troll thread, and it's clear that just listing famous people you know or met SAYS something about you as a person and the substance of your character (or lack thereof,) the lists just keep coming and coming. It's SOLID |

Nate Tastic wrote: God I wish it was that simple. I've run into plenty of "famous" people, but there isn't a fiber in me that requires me to boost myself in some kind of odd way by mentioning it. If you want an extreme version of this sad trend, check out our buddy Medusa. Holy crap that guy is the king of selfies with B and C listers. Be secure in yourself, know that you matter and are whole on your own without expensive possessions, notable acquaintances or friends, etc. |
