I have no idea, where is that?

The title of this book has always been misleading. If I were to guess it has about 10% of the bouldering in New England. It should be called “a few bouldering areas in New England”.

Then this??Then call it that! if it is a selection of specific areas, call it by those places names.

Hey Gnome, you know that you can enter these climbs into the database here instead of randomly posting them on various threads?

Thanks Joe. I have no doubt this is true. I think I can say we're all grateful for the work put into these books. They are a fantastic resource! It's only really the title that bugs me (oh woa is me!)

So maybe "Selected Bouldering Areas of New England" or something like that could have been a bit more apt? With a name like that though, I'm not sure I'd expect to see Hammond Pond.

Say I know nothing about New England, see the book on a shelf somewhere in Cali, and read only the title. I may be led to believe that is the bouldering in New England.

A comprehensive New England bouldering guide would likely require multiple volumes, many contributors, and take lots of time.

I hope he doesn't send them to Hammond Pond if they only have a week or two.

I think Hammond is in there due to its proximity to Boston so if you only had a day, you could get some bouldering in...

Looks like we need a new guide. Obscure, hard to find bouldering gems of New England.

Do communists really need their own NE bouldering guide?

Lynn Woods is probably 25 mins out. If you live on the east side, or the north side of the city it can take an hour to get to Hammond Pond.

HP is fun if you live nearby, but somewhere to go if you're in town for a couple days? Not my visitors!!!  Maybe if you are really psyched on working an eliminate with greasy holds on puddingstone......

Dude there's no bouldering book ever, anywhere, that documents all the bouldering for that region.  You know how many random fucking rocks are around?  Make your own book.  Weird thing to complain about.

I don't know about that. " A comprehensive bouldering guide to exit 5" would nail it pretty good.

You missed it somehow Russ. My only point was the title doesn’t make sense. The book is great!

It’s not really a complaint, more of an observation. Usually when guidebook authors select areas and climbs in a region to document it says something like “select” or something like we said above. That’s all. You’re way more worked up on my comment than I was originally.
I am working on a guidebook now, and hope to contribute to a more comprehensive New England guide in the future.
