climbing friend,
do you ingest the creatine in hopes of more impressive meat of musculature and slightly increased strength?
Does it work to sufficiently impress others at the bouldering gym so you perhaps do not feel so empty inside?
Does the body weight you would be gaining nullify any increased strength and performance touching your climbing rocks due to gravity and ratio of strength on weight?
I am already quite hulking and tremendous

climbing friend,
No no I never ingest of the creatine, much better use the creatine as chalk for sweaty hands during bold flash, myahh ho ho, forearms refresh at crux and hands covered in creatine!
Many time I be hanging from most hard route, blow creatine dust off hand, ho ho, climbing magazine picture, no?
Use of creatine for to ingest is like create plastic version of rock for to climb with no danger, is much better simple crushing forearms on bold flash of real rock, myahhh ho ha!

I gained a few pounds and didn't notice any strength/power increase. Also made me prone to really painful muscle cramps. YMMV

I take it. Everyone should. It doesn't magically make you stronger (seriously? people think that?). It increases your body's ability to pull water into muscle tissue. You will gain a few pounds (of water weight).
Strength athletes have this shit figured out. Climbers have a lot to learn from those communities.

YMMV Everything you just described is symptoms of increasing creatine intake but not increasing water intake. I AM NOT saying you should or should not take creatine. The water weight gain MIGHT outweigh the performance gains, and anyone taking it should be aware of the fairly ambiguous evidence about its long-term health effects. I AM saying if you take creatine, also drink more water.

Okay, but why should I care that it increases my body's ability to pull water into muscle tissue if it doesn't make me stronger (or more endurant/powerful/etc.)?

It will improve your work capacity (not the same as endurance), i.e. you will be able to do one or two more reps, you will need less rest between sets, and be able to do more total work in a workout. It will improve nutrient flow into your muscles, which will improve protein synthesis (muscle growth) if you are eating adequately to support it.
These effects aren't huge, but enough to justify the ~35 cents a day.
There's nothing you can eat, take as a pill, or inject that will make you stronger. Nothing. Including anabolic steroids. The only thing that makes you stronger is your body's own adaptation to stress. The best you can hope for from a nutritional supplement is that it facilitates that process in some way. You still have to put in the work.

Aleks, I have some left over. If you want to give it a try, you can have it. Might be more useful for a vegetarian.
