Haul Bag Wear

. I remember a few years ago approaching the Nose and hanging from a nearby tree like Christmas ornaments was an assortment of came, slings and clothing.  The owners were rapping down with their haulbag's bottom hanging open like a trap door.  The stitching on their bag had worn completely through. My own haulbag  is almost there.

I've seen people use duck tape around the edges, but this too is not a very good solution as it wears quickly and sheds, leaving a mess for others to clean up.

I'm curious if anyone else has a method they've used that's not as messy as duck tape and keeps the stitching from completely wearing through.

Thanks

Either some wide webbing and glue it so it covers the stitching, If you can use loctite 4902. You could also get some cheap epoxy and coat all the stitching.

Or, you could decide your bag is just worn the fuk out and buy a new one?

FISH Haul Bags

My Fish haul bag looks almost new after two big walls.

For the triple direct we had a bag sleeve,  essentially  to take the wear up the lower angle free blast, which, yes...we hauled. The bag sleeve worked great.

The Fish bags and ledges are made by a dude who actually climbs walls and there isn't any other brand that does it better.

Russ's best piece of advice is choose a steeper route. 7 trips up the Nose takes its toll.

What's this bag sleeve look like?

It was black pack cloth, open at the bottom with one hole for the rope at top. Essential a haul bag condom with a hole in the tip.
We threw it in the bottom for padding when we got to the Muir. This was 1996 so its landfill many moons ago.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
