One size small is good enough for easier routes like the Kain face, but won't give you the precision you need for more advanced routes.  You can always rest your feet by taking them off at the belays.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I guess the G2 sm or the Phantom 6000 might be a better option. Another question, would nomics or ergos be good tools in the alpine, I'm hoping to start ice climbing and I want a tool that will be good when I'm climbing wi6 or wi7 in a few years.

Yes. Get two of both. And quarks too for less alpine. You'll also need Petzl's lineup of crampons to get you to WI8 (if you have aspirations for that)

TIL I want to climb Mt Robson. What a super cool mountain.

Not to threadjack...I mean, I think this has pretty much run its course...but how many other big technical ascents are there in the Rockies? I had never seen anything with such sustained face climbing, but then again, I've only seen the Rockies in the US...

Alpamayo is on my 'probably/someday' list, but I'm curious about opportunities for similar climbs without have to leave the continent.

There are only one or two others. 

There's some pretty incredible literature out there about the North Face of North Twin. I'd say that qualifies as a big technical ascent!
