This is the view from the Joe's Valley dam of the Mary's Lake area. They didn't get much snow from the looks of it, so it may require 4WD and chains to get to Mary's Lake.

Some friends and I might be able to help make a trail (or clear some wood) up to Mary's Lake stuff too on the weekend. Would be good to know if you're going Sunny-D, my buddy and I ran into you while you where headed up to Golden Spike about a month ago.

No 4wd or chains required to get to Mary's, and the ice there is great

Ok Mary’s lake trail building team... I can go Friday. Who wants to go. I have a crewmax 4x4 tundra so I could reasonablely take 3 to 4 people with me. Everyone could chip in for gas. I have a couple of saws and clippers. I also have plenty of surveyers tape to get the job done. I live in salt lake Sugarhouse area and would want to leave about 5:30am We could bang out a rough trail cutting deadfall and brush then climb for the rest of the day. Let me know.

Sunny-D I work all night Thursday until 7:30 a.m Friday so I'm out for Friday morning, if I happen to be called off I'll let you know, be glad to go down, clear a path and hopefully get some climbing in.

Last Chance Falls in Logan. The road was snowy and packed, but easily drive able. I drove the road in my car just fine, however, parking was a different story. I didn't even consider trying to pull off the hard pack to the side to park so I went back down to the canyon road and walked in.

The GWI was really thin and marginally protectable with lots of chances of breaking through to water/air in lots of spots- like you're lucky to find placements for stubbies. It's growing fairly well but basically was in mandatory solo conditions. Hopefully will be fatter soon. Not sure about Hanging Gully, it looked about the same conditions as GWI yesterday though. Just so you know...and nothing is forming up around Scruffy Band right now.

Temps have been staying fairly cold in Provo canyon lately. Looks like daily high temps have been staying under 32 degrees for highs. P1 of the fang.

Back off in Santaquin was in this morning up to the steep part of pitch 2. Thick enough for 13cm and 17cm screws except for the last bit before the upper chains (not in the book) right before the steep part starts. Above that was thin and chandelier’d and beyond my abilities. Lived up to its name I guess. Smash head looks in except the first pitch hasn't reach the ground yet. Saw lots of other streaks of ice but don’t know the canyon well enough to comment on climbability. If the temps stay like they were all week I don’t see why things wouldn’t continue to form (he said optimistically). Had the canyon to ourselves.

Biked into Cobblerest yesterday and climbed Hard to Find Falls. Road was sled-packed and snow-covered. A Fat bike (better yet E-Fat Bike) would've been the ticket... The "Uintas Snow Bike & Ice Bouldering Half of a Quarter Duathlon" for the truly desperate I suppose...

Anybody know how far you can drive up Santaquin Canyon? The pictures someone posted the other day made it look like there was almost no snow

On Sunday we were able to drive right to the base of smashhead/backkoff and there was virtually no snow there.

First pitch of Malan's in Ogden has been climbable for almost a week and is getting fatter each day. Willard falls is super thin until the last pitch.
