Just want to clear the air on Brownpoint as this style of climbing involves hiking to the base of a route, getting scared, and then taking a shit near the base before hiking off. Honestly the more deuce piles you see around the base of a route the more telling its an R/X route than the guidebook might suggest.

I always thought this style of climbing involved either being so scared that you make a "brownpoint" on yer britches OR you somehow have managed to pucker up so tight your butthole closes up tighter than a bear trap.

I have always heard and used brownpoint to denote a clean toprope ascent. As was explained to me, it's like a redpoint, only slightly shitty.

Climbing by Braille  Holds so small you can't see them, you have to feel them. Usually on hard steep slab.

Getting sent (by the route) - being well shut down by the route, either by being unable to finish it or having to hangdog.  Contrast with sending the route.

My son, motivating me. Which often results in a bigger "try hard". Which....

.. leads to considerable use of pc incorrect terminology linked in anatomically dubious phrases, directed at the Rock, myself, my kid, when I am getting pissed off enough.

"On delay" when I'm dithering before actually starting up the thing.

"Revenge of the short people" routes set by me in the gym that are easy, with two handed jugs for tiny hands, less than one hand for bigger people.

"High step" a mythical move executable by people with young knees.

Tronsight: top rope onsight (first time I heard this we saw some guy belaying with his head straight down staring at his feet the whole time, when we gave him a strange look he said he didn’t want to ruin his tronsight attempt.)

Trash: top rope flash 

Wobbler: throwing a tandrum after failing on a route while still dangling from the rope wobbling about.

Spray vocabulary:

Sloper: a large hold that your partner is too weak to use

Crimp: a small hold that your partner is too weak to use

Jug: a hold just past your partner's reach

Gaston: a hold that your partner will not be able to weight correctly

Perfect fingers or hands: tips/thin or rattly fingers or hands.

Gitsch- (verb) to fail on a route after all of the hard climbing is done and you should be cruising to the anchor.  It has absolutely nothing to do with my last name...
