Just want to clear the air on Brownpoint as this style of climbing involves hiking to the base of a route, getting scared, and then taking a shit near the base before hiking off. Honestly the more deuce piles you see around the base of a route the more telling its an R/X route than the guidebook might suggest.

Just want to dirty some hot air on the whole brownpoint thing: I always thought this style of climbing involved either being so scared that you make a "brownpoint" on yer britches OR you somehow have managed to pucker up so tight your butthole closes up tighter than a bear trap.

I have always heard and used brownpoint to denote a clean toprope ascent. As was explained to me, it's like a redpoint, only slightly shitty.

Getting sent (by the route) - being well shut down by the route, either by being unable to finish it or having to hangdog. Contrast with sending the route. "Send or be sent"

"Ice cream's at the top!" My son, motivating me. Which often results in a bigger "try hard". Which.... .. leads to considerable use of pc incorrect terminology linked in anatomically dubious phrases, directed at the Rock, myself, my kid, when I am getting pissed off enough. "On delay" when I'm dithering before actually starting up the thing. "Revenge of the short people" routes set by me in the gym that are easy, with two handed jugs for tiny hands, less than one hand for bigger people. "High step" a mythical move executable by people with young knees. OLH

Tronsight: top rope onsight (first time I heard this we saw some guy belaying with his head straight down staring at his feet the whole time, when we gave him a strange look he said he didn’t want to ruin his tronsight attempt.) Trash: top rope flash Wobbler: throwing a tandrum after failing on a route while still dangling from the rope wobbling about.

Gitsch- (verb) to fail on a route after all of the hard climbing is done and you should be cruising to the anchor. It has absolutely nothing to do with my last name...
