Just a thought experiment to see what pieces are favorites for general alpine rock in the <5.10 range:) Ignore safety for this thought-experiment... If your alpine rack had just 1 piece, what would it be? For me: yellow TCU. If it had 2 pieces, what would it be? For me: yellow TCU and pink tricam. If it had 3 pieces, what would it be? For me: yellow TCU, pink tricam, red link cam.

Well if just 1 to 3 pieces, I think it'd have to be link cams .75, 1, and 2. However, if not doing hard lead, I think that .5, 1, and 1.5 tricam evos are the most flexible, far lighter, and give you a really good amount of placement options. If doing lead, I'd take .4 BD, 1.5 WC, and Small Supercam

Don't be surprised about the totem response. The one thing that MP can AGREE on is that totems are good.

A Tauntaun, so when I'm freezing to death on a ledge SAR can cut it open and stuff me into its steaming chest cavity. Or 15m of 7mm titan cord to tie myself a set of rope chocks.
