Climbing book suggestions?
|
Looking for some good books related to climbing/mountaineering... more like novels than informational guides. Any suggestions? |
|
Check this one out. Saw it in Barns and Noble last time I was at the mall. Looks pretty nice. |

The Freedom of the Hills is pretty much THE informational guide when it comes to climbing and mountaineering. It doesn't have any story format writing in it, but it is an excellent tome. |
|
Eiger Dreams and Into Thin Air by Krakour, Moments of Doubt - David Roberts, The Hard Way - Mark Jenkins. I've read and liked John Long and Greg Child books, but I can't remember any titles. |

Kiss or Kill: Confessions of a Serial Climber |

The White Spider |

|
No Picnic on Mount Kenya - great read. |

Touching the Void by Joe Simpson is a really engaging, albeit short read. The writing style is so-so, but I found the super inspiring and death-defying story to be well worth the money and the read. Highly recommended! |

Valley walls - glen denny. Excellent author, I felt like I was in the valley when I read it |
|
Pick up the Boardman Tasker Omnibus. Four incredible reads in one volume: |

The new book, The Bond, by Simon McCartney, is one of the best books about mountaineering I've ever read. |

Ya gotta read the one about real risks versus perceived risks, to help you follow many of the discussions on MP if nothing else. |
