For the Screamers just park at the Henifer Exit. It is maybe a 10 min stroll over to the ice. There is a great place to park on the West Side of the Exit. Walk up the off ramp climb the fence and you are pretty much there. We did 3 pitches on Screamers Right last week. Screamers Left is great fun right now too.

Thanks Sunny-D for the Screamers beta. Would be up for an Echo session Wednesday AM if anyone's interested. 15+ years ice experience, safe climber/attentive belay, mellow attitude, etc etc. Screamers then Tombstone...

I'd be down for an Echo tour with you Wednesday. Can't get there till about 8:30-9 in the morning. I'll just be getting off of an AirMed shift in Park City

Was up at Echo on saturday and the screamers were looking good.

Tombstone Falls was in too. Good enough ice to solo a few laps on P1. P2 looked mighty tempting though!

Does anyone know the current condition of "The Scottish Gully" in BCC?????

Brent Huff · · SLC, UT · Joined Feb 2011 · Points: 40

The Screamers are super fat and there is ice right of them that isn't in the book.

First pitch of CCC Falls is still nice and fat. Top pitch thinner than it was a month ago, with a fat section on the left, open for about 20 feet, then an amazing pillar on the right side.

Anyone up for some local ice tomorrow?

Very interested in the condition of the Scottish Gulley. That is one of my favorite routes around.

I've been wondering the same. Its only staying cold you a few more days. I should just go get eyes on it

The Scottish gulley forms thicker when we get a little warmer and then it cools again. It is almost entirely snow fed. This warm spell may help it out. If the bottom little curtain falls during the warm, the gulley may remain thick with ice. You can climb mixed rock up a bulge past a fixed pin (if its still there) to get to the ice if the curtain is gone. I've climbed it in many conditions all of which are super fun. The gulleys by the bumblebee wall are really fun as well.

Is anyone interested in going out ice climbing on Saturday? I live in Salt Lake City and I'm willing to drive. W4 and have a small selection of screws, ropes, etc...

Heads up: Salt Lake County SAR will be training on scruffy band Sunday am from 0700-1200.
Sorry for doing it on a weekend but we have real jobs too. Kinda.

I haven't seen Billy's Icicle come in in about 20 years. Is it in this year, with all this moisture?

Maple is in fat right now.

Anyone know current GWI conditions?

Thinking about heading up there this Sunday February 7, I guess there's some game later in the day. Probably just go to top of pitch 2 though. Does anyone know if you can bail from there?

You guys should come!

And bring beer, brats or beef, and a bathing suit.

Follow the smell of grilling meat up the GWI tomorrow.
