Well, the BD gear swap has come and gone and it is time to sharpen those new/old tools and get on the ice... Let's start the conversation about what routes are in.

Drove up to check out the Uinta's, November is going to live up to its name... Not even veneer on it at this point.

There is a sheen of ice on Rookie Party off the AF Twins. Probably something off of sundial as well. Maybe this next storm with some snow will aid in growing some of these.

Warmest fall on record in SLC, so no surprise on no ice anywhere.

It seems like more and more people post their climbing pics to Facebook or Twitter. This forum is still valuable but I suggest we tag our social media posts with #utahice to make it easier to follow conditions around the state.

This weekend might show us something.

I'll second Brett's idea for the #utahice. There's a bit of snow on the summits up here around Ogden, but nothing's really cold enough yet to be interesting.

Is there a Facebook page for ice conditions? When I was in bozeman there was a nice one called 'southwest montana ice'. Something like that would be nice.

@Carl - MP has proved more reliable than other resources for conditions. it will start to trickle in... I know I have my spots that I am heading out to scout this weekend. If they are in, I will post pictures and update.

November wall in the uintahs saw its first accents this weekend. Short, thin, and slabby but ice was climbed. Thanks Chad for the great time!

Must of your footprints I saw up there friday?

Sorry, yours was not first of the season, I climbed some lines on it on 10/30, when it was more of a mixed, but still climbable. Checked on it again friday, climbed the few lines that were in. If you look really hard you can find spots to sink a 10cm screw, average thickness is about 5 cm. Nothing else in that area has really started to come in yet.
Tasting the ice
One of our party said the ice tastes ready

Looks thicker than it did Friday. Anybody checked out the stuff around Cobblerest?

I'm driving to Moab with my mountain bike and zero ice gear. The pricicle on HWY 6 is in. Didn't snap a photo because I was behind the wheel. Any thoughts on whether the higher elevation routes at Joe's (Mary's Lake) will be in? I might do a recon side trip on my way back from the desert. Good hunting all.

If November Wall is in then Cobblerest should be too. I've never been there but I suspect it is in, especially after the recent turn in the weather.

A shot of Pricicle from 11/9/15 can be found here (a friend's photo, not mine, or I'd just put it in directly):

I hiked up to Last Chance Falls in Logan Canyon tonight and there is hardly even a veneer of ice up there. There were baseball sized chunks of ice resting at the bottom so it is freezing at night but the daytime temps must still be too high. It needs at least a week of cold temperatures and that doesn't look likely in the near future. That means the low elevation climbs from Salt Lake to Logan all have a long way to go.

Found this today, still really fragile. Pillar is hollow and only an inch or so thick. Soon. Found some other formations, not as impressive, phone was being retarded and wouldn't let me get any pics.
