Nick Wilder wrote:Hi Sarah, I'll clarify what you've seen: Adventure Projects is the company I started that owns Mountain Project, and also MTB Project, Hiking Project, Trail Run Project, Powder Project, and Adventure Projects (and the blog you're showing). A co-worker and I created the FB post you saw with material from our sites (including your photo apparently) to promote that blog post on Adventure Projects. Nick, |

Why do people "want credit" for their photos? Curious... |
I like when credit is given just so I can look up more work by the person. Presuming it's a cool photo. |
People want credit ft their photos because we're living in a generation where everyone needs to have their 15 minutes of fame. |

DavisMeschke wrote:People want credit ft their photos because we're living in a generation where everyone needs to have their 15 minutes of fame. ^^^ At least for me -- and I can only assume many other folks -- this has zero to do with it. To the contrary, there are many legitimate reasons why citing someone else's work is the right thing to do, whether the item in question is a photo, a piece of written work, or even a set of ideas (yes, original ideas are most certainly cited in many professional settings and failing to do so is defined as a form of plagiarism). If you don't know the difference between acknowledging someone else's efforts and ideas versus "wanting 15 minutes of fame", then I don't know what to tell you. |

Add one to citing people's photos. |
Credits added to this post (related: it was already the case that photos click through to the original photo page where credit is also shown). We'll make sure we do this on future posts. |

Aleks Zebastian wrote:corporate climbing friend, I buy this holiday passing a mammut neon gear 45 pack with gift card. I am fooled by the REI website and believe it is one of only options with side-loading access, so I buy. I now would like credit for BD creek 50 pack, or this is not possible, a refund because the mammut pack is oh so small, yes. Would this be possible? Given the REI return policy, it sounds like your return would be allowed. But, while this site is owned by REI, I've not heard of anyone from the company monitoring this forum for returns/support issues. You'd have better luck checking out the REI return policy and calling REI or using the live chat feature. |

Aleks, you must buy the dried salmon from REI. Consume half, for meaty veins, then return complaining of bitter taste. That is what us Finns do. |
