Mountaineering boots
Does anyone have any recommendations for a more of summer mountaineering boot? Looking for something with good ankle support, waterproof, lightweight, and can support crampons for some short snow and glacier travel. |
I've heard good things about the Salewa Rapace Lighter than a full leather boot but still crampon compatible. |
I've also heard the Rapace is pretty good. Worked with a glacier guide who swore by them. |

Scarpa Rebel GTX are terrific, if you can still find a pair (lately discontinued, but still available online from a number of places.) |

Same last, insulation, etc. but with a front crampon bail as well. |

I'm not a fan of plugging my own stuff, but more details on the Pro, and Pro vs Carbon, here: thealpinestart.com/2014/01/… I've been reading your blog for a while. Nice work! |

Anybody have any info on the Zamberlan Fitz Roy? |
