Hey everyone, I'm practicing my Big Wall technique and need to find a low angle bolt ladder in calico basin (or any crag that's closeish to the Vegas Valley). Any suggestions? Thanks.
From what I remember that aid route would be a really poor one to start with. Huge reaches (will probably need trickery under 6') mixed with free moves and not the best rock.
I can't think of a good bolt ladder off the top of my head, but there are plenty of good C1 cracks. Valentines Day would work.

Not too sure of the benefit of a low angle bolt ladder vs. a vertical bolt ladder. If nothing else, a vertical or steep bolt ladder will make you more proficient.
Even if you just go place gear and work through your aid sequence on something placing gear, it will make any and all bolt ladders seem trivial even if the placements are C0.
Also, Chris McNamera of SuperTopo's videos on youtube about the sequence are pretty damn good.
Moderate Mecca ladder is what you seek. My gf has practiced on it before and she's 5'6", I don't think she went higher than second step.. IIRC. Bring wires to slide over the studs if some hangers are missing. Enjoy!
Note extra bolts have appeared in the last year or so, and for that it may be even easier.
bolt ladder in MM was drilled on lead by hand and dosen't need any trickery. I replaced the aging machine head rivets with bolts. There are a few buttonheads so bring a few rivet hangers, and a few hooks if you want to practice hooking between bomber bolts. Chain anchor. Great teaching area. Few nailing routes around, also bolted free route that goes over a low route near Valentines day area that went on aid (A3 or so) then free on the aid gear (called it 11- placing beaks on lead) but someone decided to bolt it. Oh well its just a damn rock climb.
