What does it take to put up a long new route in the Potrero Chico? Well, to start with, a large front porch full of gear.

Also, see the first pics of a steep new cave being developed near the Potrero.

Must be nice having a dog to put up routes for you.

Maybe he's got the "hang-dog" thing all wrong...

What's your solar charging rig/setup? I've been wanting to rig one up for a while.

Yikes.!! I can imagine all those bolts in one long 160 ft pitch.

What kind/brand are the bolts for the directed hangers? There will be protruding threaded bolt, looks like.

(What you are calling cactus seems to be Sotol or a yucca maybe)

Those are wedge bolts by Powers. If you place them correctly they only protrude about a quarter of an inch. The cactus are Lechuguilla. We do also have Sotol and Yuccas but not usually on the walls.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
