For fun----how many routes have you done at Indian Creek?

And don't forget the Bridger Jack towers and six shooters. They count as IC. Done all but King of Pain. Vision Quest this year :-)

Damn, I don't have a book. Guess that makes my answer somewhere between 0 and 100 :)

Last time I counted I was a little over 100, so I'm probably in the 110-120 range. Strangely, despite having done a few of the classics at most of the crags, I really feel like I've hardly scratched the surface out there with 110 routes. I wouldn't feel like a "local" until well over 200, probably more like 3 or 400...

Plus some of the routes are so darn fun I keep doing them over and over......

The best and worst is that last climb on the last night, when your body is so trashed. You climb until your feet and hands just can't take it any more. Your feet hurt to touch the gas pedal on the way home.
You feel like you just went to war and won.
It was 3 hour drive for me back to Carbondale. I feel bad for those Boulder/Front range folks, that has got to be a brutal commute.

Also how useless you are for a few days after a Creek trip(but so satisfied). My boss finally just decided to remove Mondays, or make them half days because I was always so soar, faded and tired.

Well over 200, probably approaching 300, as it was 200 10+ years ago...
But some MFer stole my guidebook last time I was there and memories fade, so an exact count isn't happening.

Thats super bad karma to steal a guide book. Sorry to hear. Gosh I cherish all my guide books. Especially the old ones.

Vision Quest is a super-classic tower route - especially the top stem between the "shears."

Looked through the IC guidebook last night and decided to count the number of routes I have done there, and of course I couldn't help but wonder how many routes the average (and the not so average) IC climber has done. Repeats don't count and multi pitch counts as one climb, so lets share :-) My total is 165

ZERO!!!!! Ill get there some day.

Ya, I spent a month there a few years ago. Between a season behind the bar at NRG and a few weeks at the Stronghold. What a glorious year.. all to be ended when some moron lady slammed into us on the road, sending me to the hospital and my buddy's beloved Toyta Pickup to the junk yard.

I didn't see any reason to get a book. All you have to to is look up at the crack, take loads of the right size cam and climb. It's pretty easy to tell how hard a route is going to be from the size of the crack. Plus everyone else has a guidebook :)

I generally don't buy guidebooks for areas that I don't plan on visiting over and over. Not that I'll never go back. Anyways, I did buy some stickers and made a donation to the "Friend of IC" fund.

Only Vision Quest, was blown away more than expected by Indian Creek though. I now understand all the high-level adulation for that place, it is amazing. Plans for many more routes this Spring!!
