damn what i wouldnt give to have your "problems" im on the lost coast, missing the best climbing and partners ive ever had! oh when i get to go back to colorado! anyone know of any good climbing out this way??? all ive found is EH. finding new partners is kinda comical. when you find a really good one, you feel like a gumby. when you find a "sub-par' partner you fell like a god!!! having to find a new partner in tuolumne made me lead some things i would have opted out on and let them lead. Go out and find new people , i highly suggest it!

Belaying is easy. It's not rocket science and pretty much anyone can do it. One doesn't need to be some sort of honemaster to belay properly. Guide for long enough and you'll start to appreciate any belay you don't have to teach first. I have only met a few partners online. All but 1 have been good experiences, and 2 have been great experiences. Johny Q wrote:...Show up at the crag and act frustrated that your partner is not there yet. When someone asks if you need a belay politely decline saying you are still waiting for your partner to show up. Wait until the party you are watching has finished struggling on their "project" where-upon you politely ask if they want you to clean it for them (out of courtesy, of course). This will be your warm up. After you have cleaned their project begin lamenting on how much money/time/gas you have wasted in the process and how you will never forgive your non-existent climbing partner for ditching you. This should earn you enough sympathy credits to ask for a long working belay or a red point belay depending on where you are at on you own project. N... Telling a lie to get partners is bad enough, but fabricating this whole story and acting out some fake charade for half the day just to get a belay is absurd. No wonder you are too afraid to post under your real name.

No need to act out any sort of prerehearsed scenario. Some of the best partners I have I found online, both here and RC.com. Did you actually read the story? I am sorry you couldn't find the humor. I will try harder to make it obvious for the feeble minded next time.

Johny Q wrote: These comments of yours make it ovbious as to why you have had to rescue incompetent partners in the past, which is something I have never had to do in my 20+ years of climbing experience. I am sure I can look at a belayer in action or a climber in action for 10 minutes and tell a whole lot more about their climbing ability than you can through the analysis of their writing and posting. It's a bizarre concept you are embracing but keep up the facade, it suits you. If there is one lesson from that longer story posted by NC rock climber is this: No you can't trust that an on-line personality is who they say they are. They could be lying about their experience, accomplishments, abilities, or all three. If you do trust them without hesitation you run the risk of having a huge and dangerous fiasco at the crag where there are consequences for stupidity. At the very least, have a third party verify the person is who he says he is before you commit to the epic. Hey moron, Maybe you shouldnt assume that I have had to help my own partners down a climb. The climbers I spoke of are not climbers I was associated with UNTIL i stopped them from rapping off the end of their 60 meter rope. Do you really think I completely judge a climber by their sentences? How about you and I go climbing, and I'll do as I ALWAYS do with a new partner, and watch their every move for the first couple of climbs to ensure they are staying safe, and more importantly keeping me safe. You just wont let it go dude. have a nice life, and I hope you enjoy bouldering by yourself, or changing your stories trying to find someone who is gullible enough to climb with someone with an attitude like yours. You are obviously out of your realm here so...might want to move along. Cause all you keep doing is trying to explain yourself, while not a single person here has commended your wonderful way of finding a belay or judging your climbing partners. And ps, If I did have to help my partner down because of a mishap on their part, I sure as heck wouldnt mind. I would be GLAD to. And afterwards, I would help them understand where they went wrong, or what they could do to prevent it next time. Why do I get the feeling your the guy at the crag drinking beer after beer instead of water, leaving your trash all over the place for the rest of us to carry out. Nevermind, I just went through your past posts, and I see what type of person you are. 80% of your posts are defensive in nature, and of the same tone. So with that said....have a good one. See ya later.

Nice name calling and baseless judgements, very cute and logical. There is no wonder why you are resorting to finding a partner on the internet instead of in real life. Let me try and see if I can do the same: I can tell from the way you write your penis is inverted and your mouth smells like an asshole. Your nipples must be pierced with a chain hanging from your newly constructed vagina and you enjoy sticking corn cobs where the sun doesn't shine. How am I doing? That was easy.

Based on the fact you represent yourself as a 5.10 climber who loves to ice climb ....... I doubt it. I mean, what would you do at the crags that I frequent? The easiest warm up would be your hardest project and ice climbing is just a wet form of aid, and I don't aid climb. Then again, you could be a friend of mine just trying to get my goat. That is the entire point of this thread: you can't know who I am and how well/safe I climb without actually meeting me.
And what exactly did I write that made you decide I am a beer drinking redneck who throws his trash at the base of the crag? That statement is about as logical and based on facts as my assertion that you have had a sex change and have pieced nipples. Maybe I should have begun my statement by declaring that some people just prefer blind dates because they can't hook up on their own. Wait, is that why my comments were so offensive to you? Shit, sorry man, its the truth.

Didnt know it was a competition. But considering Ive only been climbing for one season since I stopped for a couple years after multiple abdominal surgeries which should of killed me, im pretty damn happy to be climbing at all, period. Let alone very slowly getting back to the grades where I left off. And also starting to aid climb and beginning to work on some first ascents of mixed routes in the catskills....so im sorry Im not up to your standard buddy old pal....But maybe you could teach me how to climb harder? What do you say?? I'll drive! Lets go climbing sweetheart. :)

I don't really care whether that Johny guy was joking or what. He sounds like a hostile wanker. Good think he's already got a plethora of partners to choose from and isn't looking to get some new ones(good thing for the rest of us, that is....)

cms829 wrote: I'll drive! Lets go climbing sweetheart. :) Nah, I don't date people off the internet. You meet some pretty weird creepers. People who couldn't find a partner normally, for whatever reason. Let me clarify: If you have just moved to a new area, fine, go look on line for a contact to show you around. However, it's probably best to not tether yourself to these people until you know who they are and what they are capable of. If you are searching for someone to climb with in an area where you have lived for some time, you are a noob who doesn't know the local climbing community for a reason. Deal with it. Getting angry and calling me names doesn't change your status. I am amused the level of anger this invokes in the novice crowd. Slander me as much as you want, this practice of hooking up strangers on-line virtually guarantees there will be more accidents. Don't you know who your local climbing community is? Why not? What kind of climber who has been at it for 15 years can't find a partner in his contacts? Now that is the question of the day..........

Calling black white and pretending it's the world that's crazy will only get you so far, Johnny. After that, they'll balance out your scripts and the world won't be such a scary place anymore. Rootin' for ya, buddy ;).
