It's one of our own here, so I thought you would want to know sooner than later.

Really, really horrible news.

What terrible news to hear that Jack has passed away.

PS: I posted it up over on the taco as I'm sure he had a lot of friends over there as well

Wow. My heart just sunk.. I was fortunate enough to have spent some time around Jack and am devastated by this news. He was one of the most solid individuals I have ever met in the hills. Another legend lost in pursuit of their passion. My condolences go out to the Roberts family.

I always enjoyed running into Jack while climbing or in town. He will be missed. Adios Jack.

Sad news indeed. As I've said elsewhere, a great loss to the community. Jack made many valuable contributions and was a friend and mentor to many. I only had the privilege of roping up with him a couple of times, but they were fun days, and we always had enjoyable conversations about the past and future of climbing and many other topics. It was always a pleasure running into him and he always took the time to talk. I'm so glad that I got to see him one more time only days before this tragic event. An important reminder that we never know when it will be our last chance to share a meeting with our friends - never waste an opportunity.

RIP Amigo.
