Shelf Road Conditions?

Does anyone know what the conditions are like at Shelf right now? I am planning on going in a couple of weeks.

I am fine with cold-ish camping and climbing, but if there is a lot of snow on the ground I might balk at holding a belay wearing a full alpine getup...

Does anyone have any other bright ideas for a weekend sport climbing trip if the Shelf is covered in snow?

the only time I've ever seen snow at Shelf was when it was snowing. it was gone soon after.

unless you head down there on the heels of a pretty significant storm, you should be fine.

Shelf is bomber right now. This is the time to climb at Shelf. However, if you want to climb at The North End or the Great Black North, there will be snow, but only an idiot would climb at the GBN in November.

That's the only problem w/ climbing this time of year. You never really know what the weather is going to do until just before it happens.
So Shelf could be no shirt and getting a tan weather or it could be dumping snow in two weeks.

Just got to keep an eye on the weather for a few likely destinations and then go w/ what looks best when it's time to head out.

We are headed down this weekend...will let you know how it is. But like Bret said, you never know the weather until right before it happens... :)

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
