I'm looking to climb this route by late fall of this year and looking for some other (easier) Vedauwoo routes that stress enduro thin hands. Anyone have any suggestions?? Thanks!

Beefeater, Soft Parade (shorter, but not much easier), Boardwalk. Spectreman is kind of atypical for Vedauwoo, so its hard to find anything really similar to it.

good call on beefeater. most people would call soft parade quite a bit harder than spectreman. hung like a horse might be a decent milestone. bad girls do, on gorilla rock i think (back side of reynold's hill). a couple good ones at animal crackers (also back side of reynolds hill) that have steep tight hands.

Spectreman is impossible.

Running TR laps on Spectreman might just be the best training. I would also like to redpoint that route, so if you need a partner drop me a PM.

Dusty, What do you mean by impossible? This is a strange comment from someone as strong as you! The climb protects well. just go try it. I find most of the climb to be good tight hands (no, I do not have small hands). Soft parade is way harder than this climb. maybe you could do laps on friday the 13th.

I thought the overhanging hand crack near the bottom was the crux. The upper part is a better size.

Thanks everyone - these are great suggestions, I appreciate it. James, I'll let you know when I head up. I am quite a bit weaker than I'll need to be to send that thing.

I don't think the 13th will help much. Even though it's a fine route, Spectreman is so much harder. Whatever you do , DO NOT watch Scarpelli do it, it would then seem 5.8. great climb and a few other good ones in the area as well

Do lots of laps on Beefeater. I think it's an easier version of the Spectreman.

I gotta say, since SM is kinda short you may want to just go out to it. Enduro is not really it's thing. maybe 5-8 minutes for the lead ????
