Check out Telemarkdown.com out of CT. I live in CA and found them to have screaming deals on tele packages. I got last years reverends and they gave me free hammerheads, mounted and shipped, for far less than anyone else I could find.

JPVallone wrote: AT is the new tele anyway I think that is a very true statement in some ways. When I first started teleing only 10 years ago leather boots and a long straight ski where still common. Granted shaped skis and plastic boots were quickly taking over. In just 10 years tele gear has gotten more aggresive, more functional and there is far more variety. I think the amount of technolgy the Tele industry and AT industry have shared with each other has made the gear a lot better. I'm still waiting to see highly functional field tested releasable bindging for tele. I know that it is not too far away. And when it does come I'm sure we free healing flip floping bark chewing hippys will thank the AT industry for the design. In the mean time if you have an AT set up your lame. And I have a hard time keeping up with you :) Oh yea, strendna good luck finding a cheap tele set up. I'm sorry for poaching your post.

Sergio Regarding your comments about AT and Tele, check out the K2 website. They don't even make a distinction between the two anymore. They just have what they are calling their Backside line of skis- I guess the bindings is all that's different anymore. And I finally got around to buying a pair of World Pistes after skiing on Tele Sauvages all these years...

How many telemarkers does it take to screw in a light-bulb? Ten- one to out in the bulb and eight to stand around and drawl "NIce turns" while one packs the bowl-piece (Sorry, it looks like someone beat me to this one)

www.telemarktips.com Scroll down to the Tele-Turn-Around link. Usually some good deals on gear in there. There are also some links to video lessons. These really helped me get started. Nobody cares if you tele... but it definitely adds a different dimension to skiing. It slowed me down so my wife and I are both challenged on the same ski runs. Have fun!

Seems like a decent place to post: BD 01 Bindings, Rid Stiff, never used, still in box. $200. 176cm Volkl Gotama (08-09), never used, still in plastic. $375. Can deliver along I-70 corridor from G-Wood to the Front Range, or will ship if you foot the bill. PM me with questions. Cheers.

I managed to get my complete set up for $400. Boots demo last season were $300 and a intro tele ski/ binding setup was $100. Poles were already owned and not bought, but I strongly suggest not using poles initially. Keep an eye on craigslist for some neat offerings.
