Anyone know if Cecret Lake and the other crags at Alta are climbable yet?

Was up there over the weekend, most still have snow at the base or are wet from snow melting from above.

Allen, did you hike in? We were up at the kiosk on Thursday (7/2)which was blocked off with the final 3 miles of road still closed. The Marshall who we spoke with said there was 7' of snow up there and it would be a while before they open the road for access.

Needless to say, we didn't hike in but elected to climb at Hell Gate instead. Lower down the mountain was unbearably hot.

It's good to go. Mobs of people there after work today

The road opened yesterday. We walked up however.

There's a lot of dripping on the lower wall, the routes that are not in the river are too wet to climb except for the aretes (sorry, don't know the name). Not sure about the upper wall.
The snow bridge on the stream is still huge and some lines are buried up to the 2nd bolt. Makes for some entertaining belaying and lots of gaping from passers-by. Be careful not to beef it in between the wall and the snow, there's a steep deep drop that would claim some skin.
Temps are obviously perfect, watch for hornets which seemed to have colonized the wall. I had to do some interesting circumnavigation of a nest sitting 2" from a bolt...

The snowfield at the base is thick, steep, and covered in bombs that range in size from tiny to omg-a-fridge-size-block-fell-off-the-top size. No snow left on the midway ledge.
Looks good to go. As usual, tread lightly, don't linger at the base or leave your packs there, wear medieval armor if available.

Bump for a week later... Any chance Cecret lake (particularly the Whipper Wall) is now climbable??

As of today... the whipper wall still had a bit of snow at the base, but the rest of the area was good.

I am pretty sure I still saw a lot of snow on the way up to Devil's Castle

was up at the walls above the lake (stinky stash etc) wed the 22 and conditions were great - there was a little drip of water only on one climb on the stash
