Whitney Portal - South Lake Shuttle

I'm hiking the JMT from the Bishop South Lake trailhead to Whitney, starting later this week. Anybody know a good shuttle service to take me to the trailhead from the Whitney Portal? Alternatively, how hard is it to hitch from Whitney up to Bishop?

No shuttle AFAIK. If you go past Whitney to Horseshoe Meadows on the hike, you might be able to hook up with hang-glider retrieval crews. Their trade route goes to Bishop. Just hang out and ask at the launch at Walt's Point. Otherwise, it shouldn't be too hard. Getting to the trailhead in Bishop will be the crux.
