Lurkers suck

"The 11th annual study of 71 countries by investment bank Merrill Lynch and consultancy firm, Capgemini found that buoyant economic growth across the world pushed the riches of “high net worth individuals” (HNWIs) up by a hefty 11.4 per cent last year. (snip)
The boost in cash held by the world’s millionaires and billionaires also generated a surge in philanthropy, the report said. Rich individuals donated 7 per cent of their wealth to charity, while the ultra-rich donated more than 10 per cent to these causes. This charitable giving amounted to more than $285 billion globally."

Maybe they were all christian?

Oh, Come on! Don't tell me that you haven't pondered these poop questions on more than a few occasions. I, for one, am glad to know that I'm not likely to accidentally poop through my pee pee. Can you imagine how embarrassing it would be if that happened at a crowded row of urinals?

I think Tony and Ken have officially lost "lurker" status.

I doubt that I was ever in a position to claim the title of lurker. In fact, most of the people in this forum should hardly consider themselves lurkers - more like: Sprayklers.

Carry on.

Hell then, we need a "Sprayklers Rock!" thread. Us Wasatch folk are gettin a bit bored with the lack of material.

A pole in the middle of the room, something a little more recreational... I like your style. Ken... are you sure you would prefer Aunt Ethel?

It took you until pg. 8 to notice?!

Watch out for that pole. We guys have equipment there that does not play well with others. A particular pole incident once produced a broken blood vessel that left the equipment looking like a Tao sign... You know, yin and yang? Anyway, 1/2 blue, 1/2 white. The Girlfriend said if I couldn't take better care of the equipment in the future, I couldn't leave home with it.

You haven't experienced true pleasure until you've had a romp on Aunt Ethel's flabby armpit.

I must say that I feel bad about posting yet again, and continuing this argument (for the other users and lurkers. . . I’ve been there and it’s a drag). But hey, I am pushing it toward KC’s 20 page prediction. . . whatever that’s worth.
Having said that, I simply cannot make myself more clear following this post; so take comfort in knowing that I will do no more!

Bubb wrote:
Cameron. Wow, that is super asinine and makes you not worth further bother. My wife, my family, and many of my friends are Christians. But 'my peers' give WAY more to charity than any group you can site, I am sure anyway.”
Well, if your peers are Christians, then I agree (that is who I’ve been citing).
Bubb: "I believe in very very limited rule"
So do tell: why then remove EXISTING Christian paraphernalia; doesn't seem too limited to me, when you want to control how a majority wants to display their beliefs.

cameron wrote:
"Fact: Christian America does more to help the poor, abused, starving, diseased and down-trodden across the globe, than any other religious or non-religious group."
Bubb: "Absolutely incorrect."
That's your retort?! And then citing that the rich give too? Your comments do nothing to invalidate my posting.
Bubb: “The boost in cash held by the world’s millionaires and billionaires also generated a surge in philanthropy. . .”
I never argued the global charity point – I said CHRISTIAN AMERICA. Regardless, this still does not invalidate my statement.
Bubb: "Just read a study that shows wealth is the #1… factor to charitable giving."
Actually, I've read that the poor (not the middleclass or rich, the poor) give more to charity per their means (key: “per their means” ). I do hope that your quote is right, and mine is wrong, but that’s what I’ve read.
Bubb: . . ." abstenence only programs in sex ed, etc"
That's not just a Christian drive. I see. . . so anything that has a Christian involved, is a Christian cause? This is the problem with most of your (and KC's) retorts.
Besides, the anti-Christianites (and you won't find a Christian supporting this) are preaching, to our kids within the assembly halls of our schools, that sex as a young person is fine; and that taking drugs is fine; and that "trying" homosexuality is fine. . . they’re even encouraging it. It's your Boulderite highschool Bubb (not limited to Boulder of course).
Bubb: "I think he was an insolent jerk for calling me 'spiritually dead. . .'"
Bubb, for the second (third?) time, I did NOT call you spiritually dead, look it up - although you may be a bit brain dead for continuing to say that I did.
Bubb: “Of late it seems that the Christians are too busy killing each other to worry about us atheists getting to them.”
Do you care to ever qualify this. . . or was it just a silly filler of sorts?

Cangi: "Maybe next time you'll think twice before trying to have a serious debate in a thread called: "Lurkers Suck"."
Remember, I didn’t start this attack, I just came to the defense of it - funny watching you attempt to flip it; and then say that I am taking this too seriously.
Cangi: “If calling you on your unsubstantiated claims makes me ego saturated. . .”
Try, once again, reading what I wrote, and you will soon see that you did not refute my claims. (In my last post I even spelled it out again).
Cangi: “I do not think cameron is an insolent jerk. I have never even met him, so I have no personal experience from which to make such an assertion.”
Very good (and high) of you, thanks.
Cangi: “. . .he feels a need to be an apologist for Christians, which could stem from any number of factors.”
One factor only: Christians aren’t the bad guys, yet get treated as such.
Christianity destroyed slavery (historical).
Christianity saved the world from Naziism, Communism and Fascism (historical).
Chritianity helps the hungry, diseased. . . and “lost” (such as many prisoners within our broken system).
Christianity attempts to organize people for peaceful teachings and peaceful resolution of conflict.
I think it’s a pretty good cause. . . the mainstream – and I tend to stand for what I believe is good.
Do I believe in all Christian causes? No. Nor do I agree with/support a good portion of their history. But, their backbone is just (and as I’ve said before, “Todays Christians”).

Flame on (or not).

Correction, Cameron. Great humanitarians, like William Wilberforce and Abraham Lincoln, where responsible for abolishing slavery, and would have fought toward that end in spite of their religious affiliations.

I admire your passion, although you have a lot to learn, my friend. Maybe the best place to start would be to clear your mind of some of your preconceived notions about people and how the world works.

John - do you dive?

While this energizer bunny thread keeps running i'll n odoubt finish the drive to honduras and ferry over to roatan for a little bit more life insurance disqualification. Ever been there?

Its hard to believe the Packers keep winning with a quarterback that looks like the guy from tales of the crypt on steroids. He looks closer to Angela Lansbury's age than 37.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
