Does anyone know the story behind why Glover's routes were targeted?

I have wondered about Hiss and Spray and Eat Cat Too for a long time. They were the first sport routes that I did in the Flatirons many years ago. The bolts on those 2 climbs have been missing for at least 12 years. I seem to recall them disappearing sometime around 1994 or 1995. It's too bad because they were worthy routes even if they were a little short. Hopefully someone will know why they disappeared.

2 things:
#1) I think the potential for a bolt war at the Bihedral is overstated.
#2) Can bolts chopped 12 years ago be replced on a replacement clause- that's totally different than appling for a new bolt permit.
#2a) Obviously it's good to know the reason why something was chopped, so as to avoid jumping into the middle of something that might kick off a real bolt war. But if they are not on trad cracks and not retro-bolts, then I guess I don't understand why anyone would bother removing them.

Before this spirals out of control and into talk of a 'bolt war'...the truth is that someone felt the bolts were of questionable reliability and rather than idly standing-by in anticipation of an accident the person chose to remove them. Simple.

Some routes / bolts in the area were replaced, others await re-installment.

Guideline #1: Don't be a jerk.
