Description Suggest change

The Big Bump is a secluded hill in the northern section of the Orris Falls Preserve. On the South and West sides of the hill are a few stone walls that provide some engaging bouldering as well as a set of higher walls that can either provide some highball boulders or top rope routes. The Big Bump has a lot of potential to be a local climbing spot, if you're up for a little longer hike.

Getting There Suggest change

The Big Bump is 1.2 miles from the Orris Falls Trailhead parking lot located on Emerys Bridge Road. Starting at the parking lot, follow the Orris Falls trail past the Balancing Rock and the Tatnic Ledges Lookout (the Patti's Way Trail will lead you to the same way, but is more hilly) until you reach the old homestead ruins. From there, you'll take a right turn onto the big bump trail until you reach a three way intersection.

If you turn left then you will be able to see the Welcome Boulder on your right. Up the hill behind the Welcome Boulder is the Bump Block.

If you turn right, the Big Wall will be visible on the left hand side of the trail just after you cross an old stone fence.
