Description Suggest change

Several excellent multipitch mixed/ice climbs are available in the Aiguilles Rouges to the northwest of Chamonix valley with good lift access, short approaches, and low commitment. Although less known than the more famous routes across the valley, they are also less crowded.

Getting There Suggest change

As for summer rock climbing, the Aiguilles Rouges area is accessible from Chamonix via the Plan Praz and Flégère gondolas. Take the Brévent cable car from Plan Praz or the Index chairlift from Flégère to reach points higher up.
