Description Suggest change

Located in Gordon Head, Saanich, PKOLS (aka Mt Douglas Park) is a popular place for hiking and sight seeing as it is possible to drive most of the way to the summit. Mt Doug has a long history of climbing and scrambling, with some small climbs being done by legendary Victorians such as Greg Foweraker.

On all sides of the park there is bouldering up to V6 and routes up to 5.10 and possibly harder, and there still remains tons of potential for short routes and boulders.

The rock is primarily Colquitz (and Wark) Gneiss, and ranges from bomber to nightmare choss. Still, being Gneiss, there are crisp edges and fun climbing to be had.

This park sees a lot of users daily, so its best to be respectful and discreet.

Getting There Suggest change

There is parking in several locations: Mt Douglas Beach, Main parking lot at the base on Churchill Drive, unlikely parking at the end of Glendenning Road, and roadside parking on Blenkinsop Road and Cedar Hill Road.
