Description Suggest change

An area of finite granite blocks adjacent to the road on the fifth mile (from its fork with SD-244) of Iron Mountain Road. This area is home many moderate granite climbs with a minimal approach. It hosts several standalone blocks from slabs to overhangs, even a roof. The rock quality can be hit or miss in this area.

The area was initially discovered and developed by the likes of Jason McNabb, Michael Madsen, and John Andersen.

Getting There Suggest change

Park in the pull-off on the south side of the road 0.5 miles south of the Scovel-Johnson Tunnel. Begin hiking east-northeast, paralleling the road until reaching the boulders. The main cluster of boulders is about 350 yards from the parking (~5 minutes), though established boulders can be found before then.
