Description Suggest change

There is not much quality climbing in the Blue Mountains but Spring Mountain has some of the best quality climbing in this small mountain range. Spring mountain has a lot to offer when it comes to sport climbing and traditional climbing but the bouldering side of climbing has yet to be explored. That being said the rock quality varies so there are a limited amount of problems but I encourage people to develop more boulders safely.

Getting There Suggest change

Either coming from La Grande or Pendleton on I-84 take exit 243 that is labeled "Summit Road, Mt Emily". Next follow Summit Rd for approximately 9 miles till you reach a distinct left turn on a dirt road. From there take this road for short distance until you reach a downhill grade, once you reach the downhill grade take a right onto a uphill grade. Follow this for 1/4 of a mile till you reach the same parking area for the main Spring Mountain area which will be blocked by a cluster of boulders. From here follow the trail to the climbing area!
