Description
This area is a sunny river washed area that sits above the main waterfalls. There are several boulders in the area including The Ark, Franzia, and Succulent boulders. There is very little poison oak and the view is beautiful. Unfortunately this area stays pretty flooded until late July/August. Fall is definitely the season for this zone.
Getting There
Walk about half a mile down Dutch Creek Trail from the trail head. When you get to a large boulder on the left that sits on the trail you will have two options. Continue straight for a few minutes to reach upper falls. Or you can go down the steep hill via a trail rope to get to the lower falls area.
