Description
The North Gully sits between the main face and Toms Wart, a prominent rock feature dominating the right side of the Northeast face easily spotted from Hwy 395 below. There are many steep snow, mixed and ice routes which climb the left side of this gully. By far, some of the best steep alpine climbing in Northern California.
Getting There
The easiest approach is to drive up Janesville Grade road to a small pullout below Toms Thumb. Hike up the steep slope toward Toms thumb until you reach the ridgeline. From here, follow the ridge to the top of Thompson Pk. Drop down the face next to Toms Wart and traverse under it to the routes.
