Description

Val Poschiavina is a valley that goes from the Swiss border to the Gera Damn. At the beginning of the last century it was used to smuggle good across the border between Switzerland and Italy. Now there are a few houses where shepards stay in the summer to attend their goats and cows and make milk.

Val Poschiavina is a beatiful spot to relax and spend a day on the pastures with the breathtaking views of the Fellaria Glacier, Piz Zupo and Piz Argient.

There are several bouldering spots, sport routes that have been bolted after the traditional ascents in the 80s by Strada&Cogliati e Danilo Grossi. several. This area is at 7300 ft, great spot for the summer months but season tends to be short.

Getting There

From the parking below the damn start hiking to the top of the damn (don't cross the damn) and follow the gravel road past a tunnel until you reach the valley opening with pastures, a river, and a few shepard's houses. Approach time 30 minutes.
