Description
Hidden away along a creek next to St. Michael's Episcopal School lies this boulder, one of the few large pieces of unquarried granite in the area. Steel your toes and prepare to dance up small crystals to a slopey top-out. The climbing is actually fairly moderate and easy to protect with just one pad. This area pairs well with a trip to the nearby Lewis Laurus Park boulders, as the feel of the granite is similar.
Getting There
Only climb here on weekends or holidays/breaks, outside of school hours. Park at the cul-de-sac outside the gate to St. Michael's Episcopal School. Enter the trail system on the left (marker C) and follow the trail marked with blue diamonds for a few minutes, passing some interesting but small boulders and crossing a curved bridge over a creek. Past the next hill (marker D) there will be two bridges at a fork in the creek; cross the first bridge and head straight upstream less than a hundred yards. The boulder is embedded in the ground and the slab faces away from the approach, so you won't see it until you're at it.
