Description

Ever wonder where that right branch of the trail goes on the way to Upper? It's a dead end and does not go to Down Under, don't follow it. Down Under is the lower cliff band that can be seen from the highway, directly under Upper. The cliff is mostly bolted out and seems to almost entirely climb at 12-. All of the climbs pass through an unfortunate, low quality rock band a few meters off the ground before reaching gently overhung, solid, water-featured rock above. Same aspect as Upper - sun is off the wall by mid-morning, cool and shady for the rest of the day.

Getting There

Take the trail as for Upper-Ace. Just as you come up against the cliff band (above the switchbacks through the forest between Lower and Upper) there is a big slot cave. At the end of the slot cave, look for a faint trail marked by a piece of flagging tape on a dead tree to the right. Follow this trail down into the forest where it contours the slope/cliff. There is a steep, 2m down section just before the first cave. Cross the cave and pick up the trail on the other side before going up into another cave. Cross this cave as well and find the final, 2m downclimb to the crag!
