Description
Opal Basin is a small depression in the landscape north of Opal Hill with a few climbable boulders in the area.
Getting There
Walk out of the Opal Hill parking area on the trail leaving the north side. Follow the trail toward Opal Hill until you get to a fork with on branch heading straight north. Take that branch, and follow the trail for about a quarter mile until you get to a dry creek bed leaving east toward Opal Basin. Follow the creek bed, and you'll arrive.
Per Andrew P: alternatively, park at the equestrian parking lot on the West end, and follow the Opal Loop to the left (North) until it drops you into the "basin."
