Description
Legendary Crag. Home of the famous Speed (8c+) and its extension Speed Integral (9a). Although there just less than 25 routes at Voralpsee, the quality of the rock and consistency of the climbing make this one of the most well known crags for hard sport climbing in Switzerland. Most of the routes are in the 5.13 (7c+) to 5.14 (8c) range. Although there are a handful of warumps and 5.12s for those that don't climb as hard.
The wall stays dry in the rain for quite a while. The sun moves onto the wall in the mid afternoon (around 3pm in the summer), but the tree canopy provides shade on some of the routes.
Getting There
Parking costs about 6CF.
Walk down the trail/road that starts at the end of the parking for about 20 minutes, eventually you will traverse along the lake for some time. The road will eventually turn away from the lake and into the forest and a faint trail will head off left up the hill. Here is the starting point of the trail: goo.gl/maps/Uuc7UQ8D4CRt6VHR6 Take the trail up the steep hill to the wall. Total approach time is 20-30 minutes.
